Black Satellites Coach Didi Dramani Confident Of Overturning 3-1 Defeat Against Senegal

Black Satellites head coach Mas Ud Dramani remains optimistic that his team has what it takes to overturn the 3-1 defeat to Senegal and qualify to next year’s African Youth Championship.

The national U-20 side needed a positive result in the first leg tie in order to make their job in the return encounter easier but Ibraihima Niang’s brace and third goal for Senegal has given Coach Dramani’s side a daunting task despite Jonathan Osabutey’s consolation goal.

But the head coach of the side, is confident that his team has what it takes to overturn the result and qualify for next year’s AYC which will be staged in Zambia.

“The players know how important qualifying to next year’s tournament is to their development and to the nation as a whole.

“We now have an idea of how our opponents play. We will take the lessons from the first leg, work together  and within the period of two weeks we will sharpen the rough edges and push hard in order to qualify for Zambia 2017”, the former Asante Kotoko coach stated after the game.

On Saturday’s defeat to Senegal, Coach Dramani admitted his side were unable to contain pacy forward Ndiaye, who did most of the work for the Senegalese side.

“The team did well in terms of play and our Senegalese opponents also did so well especially trying to the wings with Ibrahima Ndiaye and we tried to stop him, which we did to some extent.

“But we still conceded two free kicks at vantage points and we were punished for that. We still took the fight to them.”
