DOL: Emmanuel Paga’s Brace Sinks Abgozume Weavers

on

A brace by enterprising goal poacher, Emmanuel Paga and another from Captain Frank Oppong was enough for Vision FC as they thrashed Agbozume Weavers 3-1 in the Division One League week 6 game played at the Nii Amoah Okromansah park Inside Amrahia.

The first half of this afternoon’s clash saw the two sides battle boot for boot in midfield as both teams saw the sight of goal on just a few occasions. Nanakwasi Arthur had the best sight at goal but was too slow to grab the opportunity to get his name on the score sheet after Prince Ofori fed him with a lofted free-kick effort into the opponent’s penalty area.

The physicality of the game saw left-back Benjamin Aloma being stretched off as he could not continue the game following an awkward landing from a head-on collision.

Vision FC was superior in the second half netting three goals in the period. Captain Frank Kwame Oppong opened the scoring after heading home a rebound just three minutes into the half.

Emmanuel Paga got his first of the game after connecting to a well placed through pass that he had just the goalkeeper to beat and he did that to perfection with cheeky ease in the 50th minute.

Agbozume Weavers pulled one back six minutes later with a nice header from a corner kick.

Substitute Joseph Mensah who came on for Nanakwasi Arthur won us a penalty in the 70th minute after being felled in the penalty box. Emmanuel Paga converted with ease to cement our win.

Paga came close to grabbing a hattrick but his header from Eric Otu’s free-kick just went few inches over the crossbar.

Today’s win keeps Vision FC at the top of the league table with 15 points and 8 goals. Vision FC will make a trip to face rivals Okyeman Planners away on matchday 7 next weekend.
