FC Twente Coach Happy With Yaw Yeboah’s Performance Despite Loss To FC Utrecht

Despite losing their KNVB Cup First round game on Thursday against FC Utrecht, head coach of FC Twente, René Hake, has praised Ghana youngster Yaw Yeboah for his performance on the day.

The player who has grown in confidence ever since his call-up to the senior national team, Black Stars, gave a very good account of himself and assisted in their consolation goal scored on the night which saw them lose 3-1.

“The team played well and I must say that we created a lot of chances but only managed to convert just one. They had several chances like we did, but scored most of it and that is how come we lost.”

“But despite the defeat all the players did well. Yaw Yeboah was very good and he was very effective throughout the game. But like I said, if you create chances and you don’t score, you get punished and that is what happened today,” Rene Hake mentioned.

Yaw Yeboah who was part of the national under 20 squad that failed to qualify for the U-20 Men’s AFCON, won the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship and subsequently helped Ghana reach the Quarter-Finals of the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The Manchester United player who is on loan with his present Club is touted as one of the few players to take over from the current crop of Black Stars players, and it came as little surprise when he was invited by the head coach Avram Grant for their final AFCON 2017 qualifier against Rwanda.
