Felix Annan Named As New Asante Kotoko Captain

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have named goalkeeper Felix Annan as its new captain after the exit Amos Frimpong

This came to light after the management on Sunday introduced the agile goalkeeper to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the new captain of the team.

The introduction was done at the Manhyia Palace when the team paid a courtesy call on the owner and life patron of the club to inform him of the trip to Nigeria for the 2019/20 CAF Champions League opening fixture against Kano Pillars.

The visit was also to seek the King’s blessings ahead of the competition. Annan takes over from Amos Frimpong, who now plies his trade in Guinea.

Annan deputized Amos Frimpong for a number of years and his elevation was expected following his majestic performances especially in the last four seasons.

The goalkeeper accepted the new role with glee. He promised to lead in the best way possible. “It’s an honor for me to be named as captain of this great club,” he said. “I accept it wholeheartedly and promise to give my best, be a good example to the players and also continue to put the club first in everything I do both on and off the field.”
