Harambee Starlets Hold Queens In Accra

on

The Harambee Starlets of Kenya left the Accra sports stadium the happier side as they held the Black Queens of Ghana to a goalless draw game on Friday in the first leg of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifier.

Both teams despite the result, sold a very good game to the fans with the Ghanaians having the better of the exchanges throughout.

Captain Priscilla Otchere was unlucky not have scored for Ghana as his 35 yard shot struck the side post in the 17th minute before Grace Animah feebly shot into the waiting arms of Kenyan goalkeeper Kundu Anngdy three minutes later.

Ghana’s brightest chance of the game in the 43rd minute when Kenya goalkeeper Kundu shot a goal kick feebly straight to Ghana striker Pokua Milot Abena, but the young lad’s indecision saw the defenders coming to thwart her shot with the goal at his mercy.

The story remained unchanged in the second half though both coaches made a couple of substitutions.

The final ten plus four added minutes belonged to Ghana, but the Kenyans remained tactically disciplined at the defense till the end the game.
