Kotoko Vs Hearts Presidents Cup Rained Off

on

The 2019 President Cup match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak was rained off after just 9 minutes into the game.

Played at the Baba Yara stadium, both teams were in high spirits prior to kick-off but soon after warm-up, the heavens opened and the rains poured in, making the pitch very soggy.

Initially, the sports minister Isaac Asiamah who was the special guest of honor inspected the field though it was still drizzling at the time, and game the go-ahead for the match to come on.

But 9 minutes after kickoff, center referee Eric Mensah had to signal for the abrupt end of the game as ball control was becoming very difficult for both teams, an action that can cause severe injuries to any of the players.

A new date according to the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) will be fixed for the game.
