Sabotage Against Hearts Coach Sergio Traguil UNCOVERED?

A plot to sabotage the efforts of new head coach of Hearts of Oak, Sergio Traguil has been uncovered, www.ghanasoccernews.com has learnt.

Grapevine source close to the Hearts of Oak Club have revealed that some members of the Hearts of Oak technical team, have planned to make sure the new Portuguese coach doesn’t succeed for reasons best known to them.

According to our sources, some players of the club went boldly to Management to report some mischievous activities of two members of the technical team who are polluting some key players in the team against the new coach.

Apathy for the Club’ former coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi, might be the motivating factor for actions of these members of the technical team, according to our source and the report has been made to the Club’ Management and yet to be forwarded to the Board for actions to be taken, that is, if proven guilty.

“Indeed, after the Liberty and Kotoko games we saw that there was something definitely wrong in the team, especially the technical staff, but we did not know what it was until on Monday when some of the players approached the coach to report of a plot against him by some members of the technical team”, our sources mentioned.

“The coach was approached by the players at training on Monday and they mentioned all that has been planned against him, one of them was to make him look bad in the eyes of the supporters, as they were going to either lose or draw matches in the ongoing league, for the Management and Board to see that they made a mistake by sacking Kenichi Yatsuhashi”.

The coach then reported the incident to the Managment on Monday afternoon at the Club’s secretariat in Accra.

It is relatively unclear which of the of the technical team members are being accused, but www.ghanasoccernews.com investigations, points to assistant coach Yaw Preko and goalkeeper trainer Nassamu Yakubu, as they are the only immediate links to the head coach.

All attempts to get either Yaw Preko and Nassamu Yakubu to comment on the issue proved futile as none of them picked any of the several calls by this website.

However, we got in touch with the Club’s team manager Nii Sabahn Quaye, and he mentioned that he also heard it in the media, but nothing official has come from the Board nor Management.

Other members of the technical team when contacted, refused to comment on the issue.

A Management member of the Club who confirmed the news to ghanasoccernews.com mentioned that they were yet to take a decision on the allegations made by the players adding that if found guilty, they will be sacked immediately.

The Phobians have won only one match since mutually terminating the contract of their former head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi. They beat Dreams FC 1-0 and drew 1-1 with Liberty Professionals in the match day 16 and 17 of the 2016/16 Ghana Premier League.

They again lost on penalties to bitterest rival Asante Kotoko last Friday in the 2016 President’s Cup played at the Accra sports stadium.

Hearts of Oak who lie third on the league table with 30 points, 1 point shy of leaders, Wa All Stars, will welcome Aduana Stars to the Accra sports stadium on Sunday in the match week 18 fixture of this season’s league.
